Bulk Addresses

The Bulk Addresses addon lets you add many markers to the SiteOrigin Google Maps widget at once. Paste a list of addresses, one per line, and the addon adds a marker for each address. For the widget’s other settings, see the Google Maps widget documentation.

Requirements

Go to SiteOriginPremium Addons and activate Bulk Addresses. This also activates the Google Maps widget.

Add Markers in Bulk

  1. Edit a SiteOrigin Google Maps widget.
  2. Open the Markers section.
  3. Below Draggable markers, click Bulk add addresses. A text area opens.
  4. In the text area, enter one address per line.
  5. Click Add addresses.
  6. Check the new markers in Marker positions.
  7. Save the widget.

For each line, the addon asks Google for matching places. It adds a marker in Marker positions with the first match as the Place. It then finds the map position of that place and saves it with the marker.

  • Each line is one address. Don’t split an address over two lines. Separate the parts with commas, for example: 12 Park Row, Leeds, LS1 5HD.
  • The addon skips empty lines.
  • Give each address enough detail to find the right place. Google picks the first match, and it may not be the place you mean.
  • At the moment, the Place text of a new marker can show Google’s second match. The marker still saves the first match. Save the widget and open it again to see the saved place.
  • The addon sends all the addresses at the same time, so the markers may not be in the same order as your list. Drag a marker to move it.
  • The addon fills only the Place. To add Info Window Content or a Custom Marker icon, open the marker and edit it.

When Google Can’t Find an Address

If Google finds no match for a line, the browser shows the message “Unable to add marker for address” with the address in a text box. Correct the address and click OK to try again. Click Cancel to skip that address. The addon adds no marker for a skipped address.
