Custom Home Page

The Custom Home Page screen lets you build your home page with Page Builder, without leaving the Appearance menu. Vantage gives you a ready layout to start from.

Requirements

Page Builder and the Widgets Bundle are separate plugins, so they do not depend on Vantage.

Build Your Home Page

  1. Go to AppearanceHome Page.
  2. Switch Custom Home Page to On.
  3. Edit the layout. Click a widget to change it, or click Add Widget and Add Row to add more.
  4. Click Save Home Page.

If you have no home page yet, the screen starts with the Default Home layout. It has three Circle Icon Widgets, a Headline Widget, a Post Loop Widget for the latest posts and a Text widget. Replace the text and icons with your own.

What the Switch Does

  • On: When you save, Page Builder makes a page called Home Page if you do not yet have a front page built with Page Builder. It sets the page as your static front page and publishes it. The page uses the Page Builder Home template.
  • Off: When you save, Page Builder sets the page to draft and sets your front page back to your latest posts.

Each change takes effect when you click Save Home Page. To edit the home page as a normal page, click Edit As Page at the top of the screen.

Use a Static Page or Your Latest Posts

You do not need the Custom Home Page. To choose your own front page:

  1. Go to AppearanceCustomizeHomepage Settings. You can also use SettingsReading.
  2. Under Your homepage displays, choose A static page.
  3. Choose your front page in Homepage. Choose a page for your blog in Posts page.
  4. Click Publish.

To show your latest posts on the front page, choose Your latest posts.
