Hi,
I am using the SiteOrigin Slider widget together with Pagebuilder. Everything works great but when the page initially loads the first slide on the slider widget resizes (height does not fill up the container). Once the second slide loads, the problem is fixed (the first slide fills up container) but only after the second slide appears.
I have set the slide size to 1018 x 535 px which is the images’ native resolution. The problem only occurs on the first slide. Any ideas on how I can fix this problem?
Many thanks in advance.
Ken
Hi Ken
Thanks for reaching out.
Is there a particular browser you’re seeing this happen in?
Hi Andrew,
So far I have tested the site on Chrome, IE and Firefox. The problem occurs on all browsers.
Tough one to test isn’t it. Even if I expose the pagination which allows me to go back to the first slide, the issue is resolved. Can we perhaps login so we can try a couple lines of Custom CSS and see the effect?
Hi Kk7
Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:
[email protected]
Just navigate to Users > Add New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the “Send Password” field so we receive the details.
Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

Please, could you post the details manually here using the Private Reply checkbox bottom right. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the password reset made it through to the forum thread.

The login details, unfortunately, aren’t working. I can’t reset because I get a warning the mail function isn’t working. Please, could you confirm the password and ensure the account is active. Thanks :)

Thanks.
I’ve re-created the slider on my local install using our Vantage theme. No issue. Changed to Spacious and there is a problem. Let me try find out why.
Would you mind cleaning up after me? Sorry, the speed of WordPress is really slow for me here in South Africa. Perhaps your hosting is faster for your connection. Steps to clean up:
1. Delete SiteOrigin CSS plugin.
2. Re-active caching plugin. Clear cache afterwards.
Thanks :) Will let you know what I find.
Try the following in a Custom CSS plugin or in your child them style.css file:

Your code did the trick ! thank you so much for your help, Andrew.
Super :) Glad to hear that did the trick.
All the best.
That’s odd… I’m having the same issue in a custom template I’m developing.
Don’t you think it should be part of the default CSS? Nobody wants the first slide to resize on the first load…
