Custom Home Page

The Custom Home Page interface provides a quick and convenient location to manage your home page using Page Builder by SiteOrigin. If you don’t have the plugin Page Builder by SiteOrigin installed, you’ll see a prompt to install it. If you’d like to install Page Builder manually, go to PluginsAdd New and use the search field in the top right corner to search Page Builder by SiteOrigin. And while you’re there we also recommend installing the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle which offers a huge array of useful widgets that can be used in Page Builder or any a theme widget area. Both Page Builder and the Widgets Bundle are theme independent plugins, meaning they’ll keep on working and displaying content regardless of the theme you’re using.

Once you have Page Builder installed and activated you’ll be able to build a static home page from AppearanceHome Page. To get a head start on your design, check out the prebuilt layouts directory at PrebuiltLayouts Directory. If you’d like a quick overview on using Page Builder, please, see our introduction video.

AppearanceHome Page is controlled by an ON/OFF toggle button at the top of the page. When turned to the ON position, the contents of AppearanceHome Page will be your site’s home page. Turning this setting on will automatically create a page called Home Page and set that page to be your static home page in the SettingsReading interface. Turning AppearanceHome Page off will change the Home Page status from published to draft and return SettingsReading to Front page displays: Latest posts.
