Hi,

What is the simplest theme I can use for a 1-page website? Just a homepage (and a couple legal pages in the footer).
It should be responsive.
It should allow the use of TinyMCE.
It should allow the use of the Classic visual text editor.
It should not allow the Block Editor to hijack the editing.
Can I delete the Block Editor?
It should not add anything like /34-2 after the URL. Just the domain name.

Thanks.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi C :)

Corp would work well for that.

The Classic Editor plugin ensures no Block Editor. It won’t delete the Block Editor but you won’t see it at all.

Here is my post on building a one-pager with Corp: Post: One Page Navigation with Page Builder and Corp

It’s also covered in the Corp documentation here: Page: One Page Website

Corp has built-in smooth scroll functionality, you can try the demo here: https://demo.siteorigin.com/corp/one-page-demo/.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks. Corp looks really good! All I want is 1 column, no sidebars.
Can I hide that big black section at the top?
Can I add TinyMCE to use different fonts, sizes, and more, since the editor image shown doesn’t show fonts at all?
    Can I edit the footer?
Can I add a couple legal pages to the top menu?

    Hi, I Work Here

Sure :) It’s a free theme so you could test it out in your local WordPress install or online if you have a WordPress installation setup.

Can I hide that big black section at the top?

The black section in this this screenshot is just a row in the demo page we created for that tutorial. Check out the demo for how the theme normally looks.

Can I add TinyMCE to use different fonts, sizes, and more, since the editor image shown doesn’t show fonts at all?

Our SiteOrigin Editor widget is the same as the WordPress TinyMCE editor. We’ll be adding a Web Font Selector to the SiteOrigin Editor via SiteOrigin Premium soon. For the moment, you could extend the SiteOrigin Editor widget with something like TinyMCE Advanced.

    Can I edit the footer?

Sure, please see: Page: Footer and Page: Widget Areas.

Can I add a couple legal pages to the top menu?

You can, please see: Page: Menus

No matter what font I use, it almost looks like it’s italicized, leaning far to the right. Is this normal?
How do I delete that red vertical line on the left side after it’s published?
How do I add the contact form section further down the homepage as shown in the demo page?
    Thanks again.

    Hi, I Work Here

If you’re seeing a red line on the left and italic text you’re most likely using a Blockquote. If you highlight the text and choose paragraph or one of the heading tags, the blockquote styling will be removed.

A contact form can be added using a Contact Form widget which is provided by the Widgets Bundle plugin.

    Red line is gone, thanks.

Page Builder is activated, but I didn’t use it to make my homepage; do I need to use it to create custom links with a hash? And paste my homepage text into it?

The contact form widget is activated but I can’t find where to go to set up the form.

    Hi, I Work Here

You’d need to use Page Builder for the scroll anchors. Please, see the tutorial and blog post on this topic. They both cover step by step how to build the page:

    Page: One Page Website
Post: One Page Navigation with Page Builder and Corp

The contact form widget will be inserted into Page Builder, to find out how to insert widgets into Page Builder, please see: Page: Getting Started With Page Builder
    Page: Contact Form

I added a thumbnail to my images, but when I posted it in my page, it’s well over 1 square inch. How can I shrink it?

The contact form is activated but I can’t find instructions on how to make it visible on the bottom of my homepage.

    Hi, I Work Here

Glad to hear you’re making progress.

To change the core WordPress thumbnail size, go to SettingsMedia. Here is how to regenerate your images once that it done regenerate your thumbnails https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails-new-image-sizes-wordpress/
