Does the editor widget style design not function, because background color does not select. Must it be via css?

So - my question: If I go ahead building with a child them, and then upgrade to pro, will my child them still work as a child of the upgraded version.

How to float text on top of the images in my slider?

The copy won't change and needs to sit to the right hand side with the images transitioning behind. It sounds simple in practice, but I can't figure it out.
