Hi,
I fancy the North theme product. Wondering if there is a demo installer for the North theme.
Thanks,
Dr. Shinshuri

Hi Dr. Shinshuri
Thanks for getting in touch.
If you have an empty WordPress installation, you could try out the following Site Packs that make use of North:
Pack: Free Prebuilt WordPress Website Template for Musicians and Bands
Pack: Free Prebuilt WordPress Website for Consultancies
Pack: Free Prebuilt WordPress Website for your Portfolio
Pack: Free Prebuilt WordPress Website for celebrating life's milestones
Pack: Free Prebuilt Beauty Style One Page WordPress Website
Pack: Baseline – Free Prebuilt Business WordPress Website
Pack: Free Prebuilt Corporate Style Business WordPress Website
Pack: Mono – One Page Prebuilt Business WordPress Website
SiteOrigin Site Packs erase all existing content, so unfortunately, they aren’t suitable for sites with existing content.
If your site has existing content, we can send demo data for manual importing using a three-file import process using https://wordpress.org/plugins/one-click-demo-import/.
Ok. I reviewed the plugin link to the One-click demo import and it has not been updated recently? Will it work the version of WordPress I am using (version 6.3.2)? Can you provide the demo data so I can attempt to install it. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dr. Shinshuri
Thanks for the update.
The compatibility note on WordPress.org is a version flag that the plugin author manually updates. As a result, it isn’t very helpful. The plugin should work without issue. It doesn’t hurt to have a restore point available if that’s something you can easily create in your hosting admin panel or via a plugin.
A copy of the demo pages and data from the North site https://demo.siteorigin.com/north/ can be found here. Please check the demo before using the import data.
Plugins will have to be manually installed:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/siteorigin-panels/
https://wordpress.org/plugins/so-widgets-bundle/
One Click Demo Import provides an area to upload each file type: XML, WIE, and DAT.
Thanks Andrew!
I’ll attempt to use this package. I’ll let you know if I run into any issues.
Respectfully,
Dr. Shinshuri
Sounds like a plan.
Hi Andrew:
I am checking back in on this ticket. It has been a while because I had to put the site I was building on hold. I am now working on it again and attempted to import the North Content Data. It completed with errors. See the attached image in the link below. Can you help me resolve the import issues?

I have another question. How do I edit the footer to change the text “Theme by Siteorigin”?
Thanks,
Dr. Shinshuri
Hi Dr. Shinshuri
Thanks for your replies.
Which Site Pack would you like to import? If your host’s setup is allowing the Site Pack Importer to run, I can provide an alternative path but would need to prepare the specific site pack.
The SiteOrigin Attribution can be removed at the code level using a child theme or via the SiteOrigin Premium plugin >> No Attribution Addon: Page: No Attribution. Unfortunately, we’re unable to cover code level customizations within our free support scope.
I am looking to import the North theme and I need a working version of the child them as well. I can purchase the Premium plugin to customize the footer, but I need a working copy of the North Child Theme too.
Thanks,
Dr. Shinshuri
A child theme can be downloaded here Page: Child Theme. North can be installed from Appearance > Themes > Add New, using the search field you can search for an install SiteOrigin North. In the event you’d like to import a specific Site Pack and the Site Pack is failing, please let us know the name of the pack.
Thanks
Hi. I did. Is there no site pack for North? The one I used failed.
Thanks,
Dr. Shinshuri
Multiple packs use North: https://siteorigin.com/pack/.
Ok. I understand. You do not have a site pack for the North Theme itself. Is that correct? If not then I would like to install the Consultant Pack.
Thanks,
Dr. Shinshuri
Also, Do I need to install the North Theme before I upload the Site Pack Plugin?
Thanks,
Dr. Shinshuri
No, it’s not necessary. Previously you mentioned running into a host level issue with the Site Pack import. To Import the Consultant Pack another way, please try the following instructions:
You can manually install the Consultant sitepack by using All-in-One WP Migration plugin. The plugin can be installed from Plugins > Add New using the search bar. Once installed, please navigate to All-in-One WP Migration > Import and import the following backup:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=13o1ynCizDHdGnQh91s5WU5d3SgtWuuHX
Once imported, please log in again with the following details:
Username: admin
Password: asdf
Let me know if you run into any issues with the above backup. This process is for a site you have not already built, a fresh WordPress site.
Thanks
Andrew
Ok. I installed the plugin after I had installed the theme and child theme. THe import completed successfully, but the pages have no content. although I see the conten in the Media plugin inthe WordPress Dashboard.
This important process is not as simple as it is portrayed by the video tutorial.
I need help getting this installed correctly if I am going to purchase the Site Origin Premium. I have tried this twice and it has not worked either time.
Thanks,
Dr. Shinshuri
Hi, Nevermind. I had to activate all the plugins and now the content displays. Thanks for your help on this.
Purchasing a license for SiteOrigin Premium is up to you, there is no pressure from our side. Unfortunately, our importer doesn’t work on all hosts. As to why the backup didn’t import page content, unfortunately, I’m unsure.
Consultant has two pages, Blog and Home. Blog is assigned as the site’s Posts Page at SettingsReading to display blog posts. If the Classic Editor, Page Builder by SiteOrigin and the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle are activated under Plugins you can go to Pages, edit the home page and then within the Page Builder click LayoutsImport/ExportImport Layout and import the below JSON file once downloaded to your desktop and unzipped.
https://siteorigin.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/home-page.json.zip
Hope that helps import the home page from the Consultant demo.
Cheers
Andrew
Hi, I just saw your reply now. Glad to hear you’ve made progress. Apologies for the hassles you’ve encountered importing packs with your host. We’ll have an improved packs plugin out later this year.
Hi, Andrew:
I purchased SiteOrigin Premium plugin. I am having a difficult time adding multiple images to the homepage of the Consultant Pack I installed. I need to replace the current image with multiple images that rotate like an animated carousel. How can I do it/Is there some video tutorials on how to use the Premium features?
Thanks,
Dr. Shinshuri
Hi Dr. Shinshuri
Images can be added to the home page Hero Widget by editing the widget and adding a new or multiple new frames. Documentation for the Hero Widget can be found at Page: Hero.
SiteOrigin Premium Addon documentation can be found at: Page: SiteOrigin Premium Documentation
Thanks
Andrew
Hi, Andrew:
I’ve added the images to the Hero Widget. It looks great. How can I get the images to randomly rotate on display?
Thanks,
Dr. Shinshuri
Hi Dr. Shinshuri
Glad to hear you’re making progress. The Hero unfortunately, doesn’t offer random order at the moment. As an alternative, it sounds like Smart Slider 3 plugin offers random first slide: https://smartslider.helpscoutdocs.com/article/1809-slider-settings-slides.
You can insert any available widget into Page Builder via the Add Widget button.
Hi, Andrew:
Thank you for the information about the Smart Slider 3 plugin.
I have another question. How do I deactivate the return arrow circle at the bottom of the site pages. I am using a live chat plugin displays in the same location at the bottom of every page. You can visit the URL link to see the live chat widget. It overlays the return circle with the up arrow at the bottom of the page.
Site Link: https://civicrm.oraclesoftruth.org/
Thanks,
Dr. Shinshuri
Hi. Andrew:
I figured out how to deactivate the return icon at the bottom of the page.
Thanks,
Dr. Shinshuri
Super, glad to hear you found the setting.
Hi, Andrew:
I want to edit the footer to replace the descriptive link at the bottom adjacent to the copyright notice. Where can I add custom text and link to the footer? I am already using the child-theme. See the site link here.
Thanks,
Dr. Shinshuri
Hi, that can be done at AppearanceCustomizeTheme SettingsFooter Text.
Page: Footer
HI, Andrew:
I am aware of the Footer customization feature you mentioned above. I have already edited the first part of the footer using this function. I am interested in changing the “Theme by SiteOrigin ” text. SInce i have already edited the first part of the footer. This second part cannot be edited from the Customize feature. Where can I customize the footer to replace the “Theme by SiteOrigin”
Thanks,
Dr. Shinshuri
Hi, the credit can be removed by enabling the No Attribution Addon at SiteOriginPremium Addons in WordPress. The field within North then would need to be extended with the additional information required.
Hi, Andrew:
How can I change the content displayed on the Page Not Found page? See the screenshot. It comes up every time a page cannot be accessed. I prefer to replace it with 404 contents. Where is the page located?
Hi, please give the SiteOrigin Premium 404 Page Addon a try:
