Customizing Home Page/Removing “Featured Content” Area

not able to update theme-premium
I recently purchased the vantage theme and afterwards created a child theme. I paid for premium but don't seem to be getting any updates for the theme, and yes my order number is in the settings.
woo commerce permalinks
Since the last wordpress update pretty permalinks for woocommerce account pages (edit billing, edit shipping, recent orders etc.) are not working unless I set them to default. Woocommerce says this might be a theme problem. What do you think?

Messed with setting and now when I hover on a menu item on the main nav, the colored background doesn't extend all the way to the bottom of the bar.
