Drop down menu issue on Vantage Premium

It dismisses when I am focusing with my mouse and moving down the menu. Once this happens it triggers the same behavior for all screens.

can not remove italics

I have hunted everywhere but am unable to find any css for the serif font that is specified as an italic. When I try to remove it using css it doesn't work.

It does get a little better using the parent theme instead of the child but there are big issues. For instance: it is not the width of the device screen.
