Unwind Custom Homepage Builder

I am creating a custom homepage for the Unwind theme and while I am creating it it uses the proper styling for the fonts/sidebar if I view it in Live Editor but when it is previewed/published the styling goes away. Am I missing something or is the custom home page designed to do this?

I am trying to get the Unwind theme installed and am completely lost. When I install unwind it looks nothing like the demo. Is there something else I need to install? I would love for my site to look just like the demo. The site I’m working on is garynettoc.com I don’t have content yet…
