Prebuilt layout issues

Hi,

For my homepage I’ve installed a prebuilt layout today (About Adventure). My wordpress theme is Vantage (free).

Weird thing is… the -First- row (normally under the diver picture, I’ve deleted that diver image and it’s row altogether) Widgets: SiteOrigin headline + Button SiteOrigin. The text within the headline AND the button Fall off screen !?! (even on desktop) You can only see half (or less) of it on the left side of the screen.

While the -Second- row (same widgets, same dimensions etc.) IS aligned and responsive.

I hadn’t changed anything yet, I only replaced the standard text with my own text, I haven’t touched anything else. And the first row is also NOT responsive.

I do not understand how that can be whilst it is a “ready made” layout.

Second question…, if I may, is…
Why does my masthead image (placed via widgets in appearance) appear sooo small on mobile phones ? (desktop, ok, tablet ok, but mobile…)

Thank you in advance for your help !
Kind regards, Puur Alicia

I’ve managed to solve the alignment of the upper 2 rows ! But still… rows/widgets don’t act the way they should… (alignment).

*The masthead photo is still an “issue”.

Also… I’ve placed 2 widgets on my blog page and for some reason they don’t show on the actual live page ?!? 1 is a smartslider3 on top of the page, the other is the SiteOrigin post-carousel on the bottom of the page.

I don’t know what is going on with my site, it does not act the way it should… I’ve already purged the cache etc. It feels like some things “don’t work together well” 🤔. But what if another critical plugin is looking for a fight with the SiteOrigin pagebuilder ? What do I do then ?? My whole site is built with that pagebuilder.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Puur

    Thanks for reaching out.

WordPress doesn’t render content on the assigned posts page. If you’d like to display content on that page you’ll need to go to Settings > Reading, deselect your Posts page. On your Posts page, you can insert a Post Loop widget to display posts.

Please, send a link to your site and we’ll take a look at the header image.

For the other issues mentioned, try temporarily deactivating all plugins not authored by SiteOrigin, does the issue resolve in that state? If not, please, send a link to the page concerned

    Thanks :)

    Hi Andrew,

    Thanks for your reply.
My homepage is static and I have never selected anything under ‘posts page’ (it still says: select …).
(I used to have a blog loop on my SiteOrigin homepage, but I’m rearranging my site. I stil have a siteorigin pagebuilder homepage but switched to a prebuilt layout).

BTW… The prebuilt layout (about adventure), second row has an automatic blue background, but I can’t find where I can change that blue into another color… (?)

The post loop widget & smart slider 3 are already inserted via pagebuilder widgets on my blog page, but they don’t show up on the front (for visitors). I still don’t understand why…

    My site is: http://www.puuralicia.nl
Yesterday I’ve set another masthead image, which looks a bit better…

Thank you in advance for your reply !

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Puur

    Thanks for your reply.

The blue background for the third row of the About Adventure prebuilt layout can be found by editing the row settings, clicking the Design section on the right, and locating the background color setting. I’m not seeing a background in the second row of the default About Adventure layout. If this isn’t helpful, please, let me know which page to check on your site. If you’re asking about the blue row on your home page, edit the row, click Attributes on the right and check the CSS Declarations field.

Is this your Blog page? https://www.puuralicia.nl/category/puuralicia-blogs/. If so, this page is a category page. Please, send a link to the Blog page that isn’t showing widgets and I’ll take a look. You can also try editing the page and using the view page link to ensure you’re viewing the page you’re editing.

I’m glad to hear you’ve made progress with the masthead image.

    Hi Andrew,

Thank you so much for your help !!
Now I’ve been able to discover where the issue was located >> the problem was within the menu !
I used the ‘category’ instead of the ‘page’ in the menu settings, now… the two widgets finally show up 😅.

And thank you for clearing up the ‘colored row’, now I now where to look.

About the masthead image: I stil think it shows a bit too large on desktop & tablets, but it looks better on mobile now and since the majority of people visit my page on mobile I think I’ll just leave it as is now.

    Thanks again, much appreciated 👏👍👌

    Hi Andrew,

    Dare I ask…
    Another issue came up…
The prebuilt layout uses Open Sans (300) as font.
On My 3rd row (under the blue which is now grey;)
    I’ve used the SiteOrigin editor.
How can I change the theme used font into Open Sans in that widget ?

I know something is possible with ‘widget ID/class’ I’ve tried it, but have not been able to make that work :( (What should go where ??)

》》 Isn’t it possible with just adding the font in ‘text’ (instead of visual) in the editor itself ??

Thanks again for your great support !!

    Hi, I Work Here

Sure, no problem. You can make font changes from CustomizeTheme DesignFonts.

I don’t want to change the font in/on my whole site, but just/only – in that 1 widget – on my homepage… >> Preferably via the text editor.

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks for your feedback. We offer a Google Web Font Selector for the Editor widget as part of SiteOrigin Premium. More on that addon below.
