With my Site it’s the same problem as some other users describe it on the forum.
Since the last but one update I can’t work on existing pages with the siteorigin pagebuilder.
The editing mode shows a note: “Dieser Block enthält unerwarteten oder ungültigen Inhalt. Versuch der Blockwiederherstellung.”
But That’s not what I want. when I do that, the page is broken and none of the former content exists anymore.
Today I updated to version 2.12.1, all other plugins are also updated.
The editor does not know the siteorigin pagebuilder anymore on existing pages.
I tried to deactivate all of the other plugins, reactivating one by one, but it doesn’t change the issue.
I can provide screenshots.
Thanks for your help.

Hi Kirsten
Thanks for reaching out.
Were the pages in question created in the Block Editor or the Classic Editor using the Page Builder tab?
Hello Andrew,
in Block Editor using PageBuilder.
Greetings
Kirsten
Hi Kirsten,
Can you please provide me with a copy of the code of your page? This will allow me to run some tests and identify what’s going on. You can access this by opening your page in the editor and click the three vertical dots in the top right corner. Find the “Code Editor” item in the newly visible list and click it. Copy the contents of the newly visible code editor and paste the code into a service like Pastebin and reply with a link to the created Pastebin. To restore the standard editor, please click the “Exit Code editor at the top of the editor.
Kind regards,
Alex
Hello,
sorry, I was out of work.
Now I tried the Editor in WordPress, but there it says “Change to html” and
I’m not sure if this would finally break the page.
Just now, the Frontend of the landing page works.
But does it still work, when I change it to html, perhaps with mistakes by interpreting.
I would like to send a Screenshot. But I don’t find a place to place it.
I can also send the source code as presented in the browser. Does that help?
Hi Kirsten,
You can upload the images to any image hosting service like Imgur and then reply with links to those images.
No, that won’t help in this situation. Instead, can you please provide me with a copy of the code of your page? This will allow me to run some tests and identify what’s going on.

I pasted the code. It’s a “Burn after read”:

Hi Kirsten,
Thanks, I was able to load the provided update without issue.
Please open the page you’re facing issues with in the editor and click “Attempt Block Recovery”. The Page Builder layout will appear and the layout will be editable. Now we need to save the alteration WordPress made to the Block and to do that, we’ll need to make a change. Please add an Archives widget to the SIteOrigin Layouts Block and then save (this saves the fix). Remove the Archives widget and then save agian (this removes the Archives widget). Reload. Is the Layout still editable?
Kind regards,
Alex
Wow, that worked out well!
Is it a fix for the future? If it appears again after the next update?
But anyway: Thanks so much for your help.
Bye
Hi Kirsten,
Great to hear that helped! :)
It’s unlikely this will happen again as this is typically a sign of an unintended markup change of a widget and that’s not something that happens often. If this does happen again, please let me know.
Kind regards,
Alex
