Functions.php error when trying to edit

Hi, I’m using the Child Theme Configurator plugin and when I click Functions.php, this error appears: PHP Warning: htmlspecialchars() [function.htmlspecialchars]: Invalid multibyte sequence in argument Any idea what’s causing this?
