Image Grid missing?

Hi

Saw on other threads the reason for this, and advice was to recreate them, but was mention of a technical ‘migration technique.’

I have many on my site, so would be appreciated a ‘how-to’ on this as really don’t feel like redoing all those galleries, if possible.

Many Thanks,

Niki

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Niki

Thanks for reaching out and apologies for the hassle you’re facing.

For anyone else reading, an error in widget class naming resulted in Image Grid widgets breaking. We fixed the problem in version 1.5.7. Unfortunately, this fix that helped most users meant that any Image Grid widgets created with version 1.5.6 activated were broken by the update.

Before starting on the fix, go to a page in question and click Screen Options top right, ensure Revisions are enabled. This will let you know that Revisions are activate for your WordPress installation. If anything goes wrong, we might need them.

Here is how broken Image Grid widgets can be fixed:

1.Go to a page/post with a broken Image Grid widget, click on the Page Builder tab and then click the Prebuilt Layouts button.

    2. Click the Import/Export link in the left column and download the layout using the blue button bottom right.

    3. With the layout downloaded to your desktop, open it using a text editor and search for the following string:

    SiteOrigin_Widgets_ImageGrid_Widget

Using the find and replace feature in your replace the above string with:

    SiteOrigin_Widget_ImageGrid_Widget

Do this for all strings in the file.

Finally, save the file and upload it via Prebuilt > Import/Export > Select Import File.

If you have any questions, please, let me know.

Hi thanks for your feedback, and it is relief to know I wont need to rebuild all of them.

The above seems simple enough – do I do this once – or for every page with a missing grid (The pages are all the same ‘template’ as I kept cloning them and just adjusting content and images fro new pages)? I have a feeling I’ll need to do the above for each of these pages though? But maybe the uploaded layout will remain as a ‘prebuilt layout’ avaiable on the other pages?

I take it any new pages I create add the grid widget too will then work fine?

I probably will need to stop cloning my existing pages then though, and rebuild a new one with new grid widget and then carry adding new pages by cloning that one?

    Thanks for your help,

    Niki

    Hello All,

I followed the ‘migration technique’ but unfortunately there was no change. I also noticed that when I downloaded the layout it already had Site origin stated as SiteOrigin_Widget_ImageGrid_Widget, without the ‘s’ on widgets.

I am still unable to see my layout.

    Appreciate the help!

    Hi Kelsy,

I just reversed the advice above and added the ‘s’ back on to the downloaded layout and it works fine. Looks like @Andrew Milpson got the above lines of coded muddled up perhaps.

Hope this helps, and is not too late – I put this project on hold for a bit and have only picked it up again today.

    Good Luck,

    Niki
