Put another way; I'm trying to make a vertical rectangle rather than a square box. It would help if people could figure it out without so much time & frustration.

I'd like to include not just pages but custom links to outside files etc. With organization like menu bar drop-downs, rather than a vertical list.

I've had a look at the Widgets and added a text widget but maybe not correctly. The text shows up but doesn't seem to be an active link.
