Yoast and Site Origin Incompatible?

Hello I have recently had my site created using the Site Creator plugin, and now my Yoast plugin shows no words are found. I have seen many posts about this in your forums and have tried some of the fixes myself, but have had no luck. Is there an official fix for this?

Thanks,

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Markie,

I’m very sorry to hear you’re having issues with our products and Yoast. The latest versions of SitOrigin Page Builder and SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle are compatible with Yoast so I’m not too sure why you’re experiencing issues. Can you please confirm that you’re using the latest version of SiteOrigin Page Builder, SiteOrgiin Widgets Bundle and Yoast? Also, are you using Gutenberg (it’s okay if you’re not)?

Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins (leave Yoast and Gutenberg, if you’re using it, active) and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

Hello and thanks for the suggestions. I have no idea what Gutenberg is. Is that a plugin? Font? Sorry, I had my site converted from a static HTML site to a WP site, and I had no idea the contractor was going to use a plugin to do it. I thought he would actually re-do the site in WP directly.

I like how it looks and works in Site Origin so I would like to get Yoast working.

Unfortunately turning off all the plugins except Site Origin (LiveMMesh, Page Builder, and SO Widgets Bundle) and Yoast did not correct the behavior.

I am reluctant to change the Theme because I am afraid that it wont come back the same as it is now.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Markie,

I am reluctant to change the Theme because I am afraid that it wont come back the same as it is now.

Themes are designed to retain data regardless of whether they’re currently activated or not so it’s safe to change the theme as you won’t lose any data by doing so. Regardless, as always you should do a backup before doing something like this just in case something does go wrong.

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look?

I have no idea what Gutenberg is. Is that a plugin?
Gutenberg is the new (optional) WordPress Editor that will be included with WordPress 5.0. You can continue using the current editor by using installing the Classic Editor. All of our products are compatible with Gutenberg and the Classic Editor so you won’t need to use one specific editor over the other to use our products.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Mark,

Thanks. I’ve identified this issue and I’ve logged it with the development team. Yoast isn’t able to pick up on the contents of the Layout Builder widget.

To work around this issue until the development team has come up with a fix, I would move the contents of the layout builder to the base page builder. To make this process easier, you can copy and paste the widgets.

Hi Alex, thanks for that. I am trying to do as you suggested, but I can't find any widgets called Page Builder or Base Page Builder. Are those Site
Origin widgets? Do I need to install those plugins?

    Thank you,

    Mark

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Mark,

By base page builder, I mean the standard Page Builder interface. Instead of adding the widgets to another widget (being the Layout Builder), add them directly to Page Builer.

    Ok, thanks for the clarification.
