White space between menu and Hero image widget

By Cath, 7 years ago. Last reply by Alex S, 7 years ago.

Hi,
I am using the Vantage theme and would like to position a Hero image widget at the top of a page.

When I insert a Hero image widget at the top of a page, there is a 35 px high whitespace between the bottom of horizontal menu in the header, and the top of the hero image.

This gap is being caused by:

#main {
background: #fcfcfc;
padding: 35px;
}

I can of course modify this to 0px, but I would like to it only be 0px when I am using the Hero image, or say a slider for that matter.

If I have text at the top of the page, I think it would be better to keep this 35 px padding, to maintain the look of the site.

So I am not sure how to remove this 35px gap onlyu if using the Hero image widget.

Please help.

    I found the solution in your docs at:

    Page: Home Page Slider

    Finally, you might notice that there is a gap between your slider and the menu. To remove that gap, scroll down the Page Settings meta box in the right column and disable the option labeled Masthead Bottom Margin.

    I should have rtfm!

    Thanks for a great product and great docs!
