What’s the progress on Widgets Bundle

I ran into a problem where the Site Origins widgets bundle does not work correctly. I have been following the problem in this forum for 7 days and others reported it before that.

I have used SiteOrigin products for four years and have never seen your support like this. I have a new client that is about to become an X client because I can’t show him my progress. Hat’s up?

    I have already reported by email through my Premium license.  I got no response.  That’s fine, the only response I need is for you to fix the widget bundle so that I can save my client.  I sent him a bill for $1,000 for work I did prior to the problem arising and he refuses to pay.  I don’t blame him.

    I moved to PHP version 7.1.23 which is where my host is right now on the new server.  No change, problem still there.

    Thanks for reaching out. Alex replied to your email, about a day ago. I’ll reply again in that ticket now. I can also see separate support tickets between you and Alex on each day before that going back six days. All reported instances of this problem on the forum were replied to individually and worked until resolution or until the user stopped replying.

    Here is his feedback from that email regarding the Widgets Bundle release:

    We released an update (1.13.2) that resolves the post save issue people were experiencing with SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle. If you’re still experiencing issues with updating, please let me know.

    Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:

    Private Snippet

    Just navigate to UsersAdd New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and Private Snippet for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the Send Password field so we receive the details.

    Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

    I have three email addresses and checked all three for messages from you that wound up in Spam.  There were none. 

    I checked the GitHub reference and in shows current release as 1.13.1  I checked WordPress.org and it shows 1.13.2 as the current release.  I am running 1.13.2  I know you put out the 1.13.2  release and then pulled it back to 1.13.1 at one point.  I have 1.13.2 installed.  I’m not sure it is the latest 1.13.2

    On my blog page after making some changes working with the widget SiteOrigin image and the previewing changes, the preview shows the home page.  If I publish and then click on the active site and the blog page it shows the blog page but with no image, only posts.  There is no CSS on the blog page itself and none that relate specifically to the Blog page in Additional CSS.

    I went through the deactivate all of the non-SiteOrigin drill as you told people several days age, but that did not make any difference. 

    I have made no changes in the Editor.

    I have given you access as siteorigin with Admin privileges.

    I will appreciate your help.  Maybe with some quick action I can save this client.

    Thanks for checking. Sounds like our emails are perhaps being stopped before they even get to your mail box. I’m not quite what we can do to sort that out. HelpScout are our email support desk providers, all of our mails go out through their system.

    Quite right, 1.13.2 is the current release. I’ll add those release notes to GitHub tomorrow.

    Do you have FTP access or Hosting File Manager access? If so, can you find the error log and send it to us? That would be really helpful.

    I’ll go look for admin details now.

    Were you able to disable CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS? Alex asked if you could do that on the 29th but there isn’t a reply after the request to disable. Perhaps that’s when you stopped receiving our emails?

    I’ve looked into you not receiving emails from us and it looks like you’re not receiving emails from us when you use your company email (the one at your company domain) rather than your Gmail. I’m going to send you an email to the email you’re using here, please let me know if you receive it.

    The website was moved from one hosting company to another late Friday and I will get authentication information today. I responded to Andrew’s request for admin access to https://hairextensionsdistributor.com and I see that the userid that I added has been deleted. Was he able to investigate the problems I have outlined or do I need to reenter an admin ID for siteorigin?

    Specifically, why am I not able to display an image on the blog page?

    Regarding the blog page. WordPress doesn’t display any content from the blog page. This is true for all themes. If you want to display static content on the blog page, here is one method:

    1. Go to SettingsReading and deselect the posts page.
    2. Go to PagesBlog and insert a Post Loop widget.
    3. You can now insert content above or below the Post Loop widget.
