Hi, I am new here. I am new with siteOrigin too. So I need to some help to build a website news using “page builder” by siteOrigin.
I tried to use some others themes but, I need some one without sidebar, header and footer. I want builder all the elements with page builder..
Hi Rodolfo,
Hm. There honestly isn’t one that I can think of off the top of my head that works exactly like that out of the box. Maybe you could use something like Vantage, or North and just hide the undesired elements?
That is what I’ve been doing on really. I just thought maybe someone knew some theme more cleaned, do you understand me? One that I can just drag and drop the elements of “Page builder”, without having to stir on PHP code. But I’ll try both themes you mention here. Thank you Alex S for the help.
Hi Rodolfo,
I do, and I completely understand. This is something we’ve been strongly considering doing – providing a “basic theme” as a foundation.
If you need any help with hiding any elements – let me know and I’ll give you a hand. You really shouldn’t need to hide much via CSS (nothing via PHP) as there’s methods of hiding most things in Vantage in the theme settings and North is very minimal as it is.
It’s “Basic theme” will be very helpful not just for me but to anyone how are starting with SiteOrigin, which is a amazing tool to building any kind of website. I’ll continue to follow up the progress of all tools offered by SiteOrigin. And one more time, thank you. I’ll need your help soon to implement other functions in my site. srsr
Hi Alex S,
I need put in my site news a column which gets the last three posts of news by category. So, it will have a featured image and a limit of words limited by a “read more”! What widget can I use to do it?
It will be something like this:

Hi Rodolfo,
You can kind of do something like that in an automated manner by using the post loop widget – you’ll want to install the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle for an improved version of this widget. Set the template to Grid and set up the post query and it’ll look a little something like this:
Hi Alex S,
Amazing.. I have used it and worked fine. Thanks one more time!
