Hi All,

I am unable to remove the demo slider on the vantage theme. I have set up the meta slider plugin correctly but it will not update.

Is anybody able to help?

Thanks
Jason

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Jason,

To clarify, have you changed the slider via the customizer? To do this please navigate to WP AdminAppearanceCustomize and then Theme DesignHome. Adjust the homepage slider setting. For more information please refer to this page.

This problem might also be a caching issue. The first thing to check is server-side caching through plugins like W3 Total Cache, WP Super Cache, etc. If you have any of these caching/performance plugins installed, try clearing their cache and see if that helps.

It might also be browser cache. Try clearing your browser cache, and then refreshing the page to see if that helps.

You can read more about this sort of issue on the WordPress codex.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Jason,

Actually, I may have found out why this isn’t working and it seems to be an issue with a default setting. Please open your homepage and then click Edit as Page. Scroll down to the Page Meta Slider box and set your slider there. Let me know if that works as desired.

    Hi Alex,

Thank you, this has been driving me mad for the last week!

Changing the slider on the page worked perfectly, Thanks again!

Hi, I just wanted to thank you. This is the only way to do it. I had to edit the site as any wordpress site (no builder, no “customise” – just simply “edit site”) and than right in the box I had to change to my slider.
If it wasn’t for your post I’d probably left the theme! So stupid. Why doesn’t it simply work through “Appearance” -> “Customise”?

      Hi, I Work Here

      Hi Piotr,

It’s meant to. This is an unintended bug that will be corrected in the next update.

Hi, I have the same problem, and tried all the things you said. I went to edit as page, then scroll down to the Page Meta Slider box but it’s not there. The only meta Slider there is, is one I made trying to delete the default one. So I switched to editor and HTML, and there is no code written either, and If i paste the meta slider code, then the page only shows the default slide and my slide.

    Help me please!

      Hi Moliv,

Are you using Vantage 1.5, or 1.4.4?

      Hi, I Work Here

      Hi Moliv,

To clarify, are you trying to add a slider to a post or a page? You’re only able to add one to a page.

Is Meta Slider installed and activated?

Is the box hidden? Please scroll up to the screen options and check to see if the Page Meta Slider box is visible.

    Hi
Yes it is activated, I have only one meta slide on the home page editor, the one I made, but I couldn’t change the default slide of avantage and there’s no option or meta slide for it. the page is http://www.bolsaspolietileno.com.mx

      Hi, I Work Here

      Hi Moliv,

To clarify, have you tried adjusting the slider via the customizer instead? If that doesn’t help.

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? As mentioned previously, this can be done by navigating to WP AdminAppearanceCustomize and then Theme SettingsHome. There adjust the slider setting to your desired slider.

If this doesn’t help, would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look?

    Nevermind Alex,

I think I just changed it, but I was able to do it on Edit Page, on the right column where it says page metaslider I changed it there and then it worked. I don’t know why it doesn’t work through appearing – customize – theme setings – home

    Thank you
