Vantage Premium theme settings won’t save

10 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 10 years ago

Hi, I have been using the Vantage free theme locally via XAMPP wordpress installation and everything worked fine. There were a few settings I liked in the premium theme so I bought it. As soon as I switched to the premium theme I can no longer save any of the theme settings. I tried doing some digging online and I have the exact same problem discussed in this thread https://siteorigin.com/thread/vantage-premium-theme-settings-are-not-saved/

After reading through the support section of this site, it seems many people have been having this issue and I don’t see any resolution on any of them. Is there a fix for this or does the premium theme just not work?

    Hi Badbeatking

Sorry to hear you’ve run into a problem.

The premium and free themes shouldn’t be run side by side. For theme settings to save, the premium theme folder needs to be named “vantage” just as the free version was. The correct procedure for manual upgrade, if you upgraded manually, is to switch to another theme, delete Vantage and then install the premium ZIP. We cover the process here:

Is this perhaps what happened in your case?

If this is what has happened in your case then I’d recommend deleting the premium theme, assuming you’ve renamed the folder. Then, in Vantage Free go to Appearance > Vantage Premium, click Already Paid? top right, enter your order number and run the automatic upgrade.

Let us know how you come along.
