Vantage Masthead shows meta-slider above menu bar instead of logo, can’t delete it

When I first installed the Vantage theme, the meta-slider example showed above my menu bar (different from the way the theme promo looked). Then when I enabled Page-builder, the meta-slider showed up below the menu bar as well–like TWO banners.

Although I’ve installed a logo to display above the menu bar, it isn’t visible because of this.
I want to get rid of the upper slider (which acts like a stationary photo, not a slider), but cannot figure out where the heck to delete it from.

I’ve been through every possible menu a dozen times… HELP!

    Hi Joiede

Can you quickly check which masthead you’re using? If you navigate to Appearance > Theme Settings. Under the Layout tab is a setting called Masthead Layout. What do you have selected there?

Default masthead is what’s checked. My logo shows as being installed, and I can see the “call me” text faintly under the top (unwanted) photo.
When I check “logo in menu bar” instead, the damn photo shows up (tiny) in the menu bar.

    Hi Joiede

Unless you’re running a customised version of Vantage, Meta Slider should always show up below the menu. We don’t have a default theme option to let it show above the menu/masthead.

Right now it looks like you have the Logo in Menu masthead layout selected. You’ll find that setting at Appearance > Theme Settings > Layout > Masthead Layout: Logo in Menu.

I’m not sure I’m following your question, but changing the above setting to Default Masthead will switch your header back to the original as seen in the Vantage demo: https://demo.siteorigin.com/vantage/ and give you access to the header widget area.

If you still don’t make progress, please send through a temporary set of login details. You can use the Private Reply checkbox in the bottom right of the comment box to send those details safely.

Sorry Andrew. In disgust I had moved the logo into the masthead.

Just now I totally deleted the logo and reinstalled a different one, and now it’s all fixed.

I’ve spent so much time mucking around with the site it’s impossible to remember what I did to make certain things happen.

Sorry to hear about the continued hassles. I certainly know the feeling of trying so many things you’re not sure what made what work.

Glad it’s resolved now. Let us know if you need a hand moving forward.

    Hi Andrew, What you nem in a post to Joiede, is exactly what I want;

Unless you’re running a customised version of Vantage, Meta Slider should always show up below the menu. We don’t have a default theme option to let it show above the menu/masthead.

I want my metaslider on the top of my page, and the menu bar below that. Is there a way to make that happen?
    Thank you for your help.

    Kind Regards, Wendy

I want that too Wendy, is it possible?
