Vantage Theme Conflicting with WooCommerce

Customers are unable to place orders via the website due to a conflict between the theme and the WooCommerce installation. This is according to WooCommerce support team. Additionally it works if you go revert to the default theme. The actual issue is that the paypal fully load during the order process.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Daniel

Did the guys from WooCommerce perhaps give any details on why this issue was coming up? This isn’t something we’ve encountered before.

  2. 9 years, 4 months ago Daniel Johnson

They didn’t make any comments apart from the fact that when they changed the theme to the normal one, it worked and they deduced that based on that it was a conflict between the theme and woocommerce.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Daniel

Can you perhaps elaborate on this point:

The actual issue is that the paypal fully load during the order process.

    Thanks

My apologises I wasn’t clear. The issue that the conflicting theme makes is that the payment section doesn’t properly load.

    Hi Daniel

Apologies. We see the issue. Please could you try turning off Cloudflare completely and test this page:

    http://imagetopainting.com/checkout/

    (With items added)

The problem is that the Your Order and Payment panes aren’t accessible. The loading overlay and icon aren’t going away after the pane loads.

    Thanks

    Hi, I Work Here

Mmm ok. I tried with WP Super Cache off too. If possible, could you put the site into maintenance mode, I usually use WP Maintenance Mode Plugin, so we can de-activate all plugins except for WooCommerce core plugin.

    Hey Andrew,

I feel like a bit of an idiot but I’ve activated the maintenance plugin and nothing seems to have changed. Am I doing something wrong?

  10. 9 years, 4 months ago Daniel Johnson

It was my own browser cache.

    Hi, I Work Here

Sorry for not being clearer. Maintenance mode just means your clients can’t see your site with all the plugins off. Can you now please try testing with just WooCommerce (just the main plugin) activated and everything else de-activated.

    Thanks

Just tried it. Nope. Still not working,.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Daniel

While I was testing I activated WP Maintenance Mode, then I went to settings WP Maintenance Mode and turned the plugin on. That way customers can’t see the site being tested.

When you’re ready please could you re-activate your plugins and then go to Settings > WP Maintenance Mode and turn it OFF there so your site is live again.

We’re still not sure what the problem is. So sorry for the hassle. We’re working the problem and will update you ASAP over the weekend with a resolution.

    Hi, I Work Here

We’re not seeing this error in our local testing. If possible, please could you try re-installing Vantage.

Your link to download the latest ZIP file is as follows:

    Private Snippet

Instructions for manually installing can be found here:

Page: Updating a Theme Using a ZIP File

Let us know how that goes. Thanks.

    Hi Andrew,

I have now done so. Do you know what would have caused this?

Also do you know how I can add the header back to the homepage as I don’t recall how I did it in the first place?

    Regards,
    Daniel

    Hi, I Work Here

Awesome, really glad to see that we’ve resolve the issue.

I’m not sure what happened. Before re-installing I would have needed to run a diff analysis between your Vantage theme and the original. I can only think that a theme file was edited by a person or perhaps plugin at some point.

Please go to Appearance > Theme Settings > Home and check that a home slider has been set.

    Thanks
