Update make my site crash

4 years ago · Last reply by Alex S 4 years ago

Hi
I need your help.
My page-builder is crashing every time I try to update, so I have to install the old plugin again.

Look forward to hearing your solution.

Steen

    Hi Steen

    Thanks for reaching out.

If possible, please, try enabling WordPress debugging so that you can find out what the issue is. Here is how that can be done https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-set-up-wordpress-error-logs-in-wp-config/.

    Hi Andrew

It looks like it is crashing with my Yoast SEO plugin. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the update. When able, please, head over to the Plugins page and let me know if you’re using Yoast or Yoast Premium and which version is being used.

    Only Yoast (SEO)
    – do I need to update to Yoast Premium to solve the problem

    Hi Steen

You don’t need Yoast SEO. If possible, kindly let us know the Yoast SEO version number in use. You’ll find the version number on the Plugins page. If you could also send the error or notice found in your debug.log file, that’ll be very helpful.

Hi again. My reply above should have read Yoast SEO Premium is not a requirement.

    It is version 17.0

Is it possible to attach a doc in this thread?

  8. Andrew Misplon Staff 4 years, 5 months ago

Thanks. The current version is 17.1 but there shouldn’t be any issue with 17.0. The forum doesn’t support attachments but you can upload files to any cloud location like Dropbox/Drive or WeTransfer and send us the link.

    Hi Steen,

Thank you for the screenshot. The type of error message you’re getting should really only happen while using an older version of Yoast. Hm. I recommend doing a backup and then updating Yoast to see if that helps.

    Kind regards,
    Alex
