Unable to edit my WordPress Site

7 years ago · Last reply by Alex S 7 years ago

When I hit update, it kept throwing me out to a 404 error page. When I go back to the edits, nothing has changed. Just over and over. Same thing.

I have also followed – https://siteorigin.com/thread/unable-to-edit-my-wordpress-site/

But still facing same issue.

    Hi Tsr,

I suspect the issue you’re facing is similar to the one outlined in the linked thread – your server is rejecting the data. Have you sent a message to your hosting provider about this?

For reference, the suspect reply I’m referring too is:

I suspect the server your website is on has mod_security (or a similar security module) and that’s incorrectly (due to broad/aggressive rulesets) flagging the Ajax requests. I would reach out to your hosting provider to double check if they have any logs of any of your requests blocked recently as those are likely this.

    Hi Tsr,

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look?

    Hi Tsr,

I’ve run a few test edits and I can’t seem to replicate this issue. Does this issue occur on a specific page or after attempting to make a specific change?

    Hi Alex,

I have also asked to my hosting provide as you requested and now issue is fixed.

Thank you and much appreciated your help, you are so kind!!
