Hi,
We are not able to edit our existing pages using the editor
its showing the following error message
Your site doesn’t include support for the “siteorigin-panels/layout-block” block. You can leave this block intact, convert its content to a Custom HTML block, or remove it entirely.
Can you please help us in solving this.
Hi, thanks for reaching out.
Is Page Builder by SiteOrigin activated in the plugins list? If it is, please, try seeking a working baseline. Does the issue resolve if you temporarily deactivate all non-SiteOrigin plugins?
Hi Andrew,
Yes, we tried deactivating all non-SiteOrigin plugins and even tried activating non-SiteOrigin plugins one by one to find which plugin is conflicting, could not find any. Is it because of the new update of WordPresss version?
Please find the link for the error screenshot

Thanks for giving the plugin conflict test a try. If you need to run that test in the future, if the issue doesn’t resolve with all non-SiteOrigin plugins deactivated you can reactivate your plugins in one go as the test has failed, a working baseline hasn’t been found.
Are there errors in the JavaScript console when editing the page? Errors will be printed in red text. https://wordpress.org/support/article/using-your-browser-to-diagnose-javascript-errors/#step-3-diagnosis.

Hi,
Thank you for the screenshot. I do see a related notice in your screenshot but that type of notice won’t cause this type issue – what’s causing it to output twice though could. Can you please clarify what version of WordPress you’re using?
Are you using the Gutenberg plugin? If so, did you previously disable that plugin during the plugin conflict test? If not, please try disabling it now and seeing if the block works now. Please note that the Gutenberg plugin is a development plugin and should only really be used if you’re testing upcoming changes due to the plugin being in a constant state of change – it’s not production ready. Gutenberg is not requied to be able to use the WordPress Block Editor.
Kind regards,
Alex
Hi Alex,
The current version of WordPress is 5.5.1
No, we are not using the Gutenberg plugin and we had disabled it long back and even cross-checked it when doing the conflict test.
Hi Alex,
We did the plugin conflict test again, this time there is some change when we deactivate Smart Logo Showcase Lite plugin.
When Smart Logo Showcase Lite plugin is deactivated the error is

Please help us with this.

Hi,
Thanks for running the plugin conflict test again. Would it be possible for you to provide us with a copy of the layout of your page while Smart Logo Showcase is active and while it’s deactivated? You can copy the layout by opening the post in the editor and clicking the three vertical dots in the top right of the page. Go down to Code Editor and click it. Copy the newly visibile code and upload it to somewhere like Pastebin. Please do this process twice (with and without Smart Logo Showcase) and reply with a link to both layouts. This will allow us to compare the differnece between the layouts and run some tests using your layout.
Kind regards,
Alex
Hi Alex,
The newly visible code with Smart Logo Showcase Lite plugin

Have mentioned the same in pastebin also, please have a look and help on the same.
Hi,
Thanks. Please disable Smart Logo Showcase and then open the page having issues. Please click the three dots next to the blue Convert to HTML button. Click Attempt Block Recovery from the down down and then save. Does the block work as expected now?
Kind regards,
Alex
Hi Alex,
When I disable Smart Logo Showcase, the block is working as expected, but I’m facing icon issues on the website. How do I resolve this issue? Is there any option that the conflict gets resolved and both the plugins works as before?
Hi,
To confirm, did following the insturctions outlind in my last reply allow you to edit the SiteOrigin Layout block when Smart Logo Showcase is disabled?
Is this the correct plugin you’re using that results in the SIteOrigin Layout block not working as expected?
If you haven’t already, I recommend reporting this issue to the developers of Smart Logo Showcase to see if they’ve come across this type of issue before.
Kind regards,
Alex
Hi alex,
Thank you so much for your support, Now when smart logo is deactivated SiteOrigin is Working as expected.
and Yes, this is the pluigin (Smart logo) which caused the issue.
Thank you so much for the support once again.
Hi Alex,
Just need one more help I disabled the Smart Logo Showcase plugin, but when editing the block every time I need to select the Attempt Block Recovery to make it work as before. What could be the issue here?
Hi,
That type of error suggests you have a plugin installed that’s resulting in the markup of the block changing on load. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
Kind regards,
Alex
Hi,
I’ve identified the cause of this issue and I’ve come up with a fix. I recommend reporting this issue to the developers of Smart Logo Showcase as they run into isues with other plugins.
You can install the patched verison of Siteorigin Page Builder by opening your website and navigating to PluginsInstalled plugins and find Page Builder by SiteOrigin. Deactivate Page Builder by SiteOrigin and then delete it. Scroll to the top of the plugins page and click Add New. Click Upload Plugin and upload this file. When prompted, activate Page Builder by SiteOrigin.
Kind regards,
Alex
