Hi. I’ve been trying to move widgets around my header in Custom CSS visual editor but it seems near impossible.
I keep manipulating the margins and playing with other controls to try to fix this but to no avail. Perhaps there is a much easier solution that I do not understand.
Here is a screenshot of what happens when I try to add more widgets to the header. It completely moves everything else around and furthermore when you open the Custom CSS visual editor you cannot even see anything anymore!!! Only the logo!
I’m sure this has to be more easy than this. Obviously drag-and-drop technology would be ideal but if that’s not available, no sweat, please just tell me how to easily add widgets and move them around the header without creating a mess, and also hopefully answer why when I add more widgets to the header you cannot, all of a sudden, see them save that of the logo.
Thanks.
In the “issue URL” below I have put the url to my site without the added widgets. I need it to look good until this problem is fixed. Thanks. But here is a screenshot of how it looks every time I try to add something an cannot, subsequently, modify the controls NOR FIND THE WIDGET ON SCREEN TO BEGIN WITH! to move them where I want.

Thank you.
Very simply if you look at my site as it is now: http://reallyentertainingtours.com/
All I need to do is easily put a call to action button and maybe some text top right….
Sorry for the wordiness. :) Ryan
Hi Ryan
The custom CSS editor’s main purpose was to make small design tweaks. Things like changing colors and paddings. Going as far as manipulating layouts is possible, but it would required a very in depth understanding of CSS. This would go into the realm of custom development.
Unfortunately Vantage doesn’t allow for drag and drop header building. We decided to keep things simple and give you a place to add your logo and some header text (or a social links widget). Drag and drop header building would be a great feature though, and something I’d like to have in a future theme.
