Translating Unwind Theme

By goryl, 7 years ago. Last reply by goryl, 7 years ago.

Hi,
could someone tell me how should I translate the Unwind theme? I found two files in lanugages folder

siteorigin_unwind.pot
siteorigin-unwind.pot

I tired to edit them in poEdit:

#: inc/template-tags.php:258
msgid “Continue reading”
msgstr “Czytaj dalej”

After save I have two new files .po and .mo (of course in same directory) and it is not working. I have my site set to Polish.

I have no idea what I’m doing wrong.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Goryl,

Preface: we seriously would appreciate any translations you can submit. If you would prefer, I can even submit them on your behalf.

I highly recommend using Loco Translate over PoEdit as Loco Translate allows for this complicated process to be much simpler overall.

Okay, so the issue here is that you’re editing a file that other languages base their source text on. It doesn’t actually allow for you to translate anything via that page itself. To do that you’ll need to create a language translation (.po) and generate a file readable by WordPress (.mo).

Please open PoEdit and then click FileNew from Pot/Po, then find and select siteorigin_unwind.pot Set the Translation language to Polish and then create your translations as desired.

    Then finally, save.
