tips for troubleshooting custom widgets

Sometimes I have trouble creating a custom widget for the page builder. I create one, get it working and then make some changes and it disappears. I can activate it but when I go to add the widget to a page, it’s not there. I know it’s active, I can see it in the list of widgets yet for some reason, it’s gone. Is there a way to troubleshoot why the widget would be gone? All the code say’s it should be working. For example, I had one working just fine. I changed the fields in the widget, deactivated it and re-activated it and now it won’t show up in the widgets list. I have been trying for hours to figure out why it disappeared. The only part of it I can’t see is the template. I can activate it just fine. It was working fine until I changed the fields. Is there some function or trick I can use to figure out why the template won’t show in the pagebuilder?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi ThemeBuddies,

Regrettably, we’re preventing an error from occurring when your widget template is included. We should hopefully have a work around this (to allow you to debug things more easily) soon but in the meantime, you’ll want to remove @ from this line.

It was working fine until I changed the fields

To clarify, if you revert this change does it start to work as expected again?
