Theme’s template file is missing custom fields

4 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 4 years ago

I’m getting this notice in the WordPress backend when I go to a page to edit the page: “Your theme’s template file for displaying Page items is missing custom fields.” I’m not sure what these means or how to go about fixing it. And I’m not sure what problems it is causing – except that I am unable to get a reCAPTCHA element to display on the front end of the website on the Contact Us page of the website underneath the form.

    Hi Adam

    Thanks for reaching out.

One way to work out which plugin is adding the notice is to seek a working baseline. Temporarily deactivate all plugins not authored by SiteOrigin. In this state, does the “Your theme’s template file for displaying Page items is missing custom fields.” notice disappear?

Which Contact Form plugin are you using? If you’re using the SiteOrigin Contact Form Widget have you set up a reCaptcha V2 key?
