I logged into my wordpress website today and found that all formatting has been stripped from my Vantage theme. The slider is now half the front page, with all homepage content layered over it. Titles and h-tags look like regular text. Theme no longer “Stretches” across the screen – it’s boxed. I’m not sure what caused all the formatting to be stripped.
Hoping this is an easy fix..

I had a backup that I reinstalled, but that didn’t fix the problem. Eventually, I ended up deleting the entire template and reinstalling it. This seems to have fixed the formatting issues.
However, I have to rebuild my homepage from scratch, and edit some other pages.

I’m surprised to hear that there was any data loss though. Let me know if you see any other issues of that nature.
I was trying different ways to restore the theme/info while waiting for a response, and I didn’t necessarily use the method that you proposed.
Data loss may have been due to the theme being deleted and reinstalled, rather than updated as you have suggested.
Ideally it shouldn’t. Hopefully it’s not a long re-build. Let us know if there are any other challenges moving forward.

I’m mostly just curious as to WHY it happened in the first place.
Vantage is one of the best FREE themes anyone can grab, and purchasing it offers many excellent features making it highly competitive with other themes that cost much more.
