Home>Support>The pre tag in the Page Builder

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Mikael

What are you using to add the PRE tags to your Page Builder pages? Are you using a visual editor or a standard text editor?

I have tried SiteOrigin Editor, Black Studio TinyMCE Widget and the normal editor. Yes in the visual editor, it’s missing there. I need to deactivate Page Builder-plugin completely to make it work.

Mivhak is working anyway. What is missing is the tag in visual editor, I need it to use the plugin.

    Hi Mikael

My guess is that this plugin is adding that pre tag button specifically to the main WordPress TinyMCE editor, but not other instances of TinyMCE, like those in the SiteOrigin Editor and Black Studio Visual Editor widgets. I’ll log this on our side to see if there’s anything we can do to fix it in the SiteOrigin Editor Widget, but the best thing to do here would be to ask the developer if they can make changes to their plugin so the pre tag button shows up in all instances of TinyMCE.

    They answer this:
Which tag doesn’t work? The pre tag? You would have to contact the page builder developer because the pre tag is the common tag for displaying code. They should allow this tag in their builder.

    My second question:
I found out that it depends on page builder from SiteOrigin, < / the tag do not appear in the editor when I have page builder installed.

    Their first response:
    Hi,
Not sure I fully understand your issue.

    My first question:
Message: Hello, I really want to get your syntax plugin to work on my website. I do not understand what the problem is, it worked fine when I tested the plugin on my test website.
I have also try to deactivated the other plugins.

    The problem is:

    </>

    not appear in the editor.

It feels like i am caught between two of you. In what document do I found the rules of pre-tag, I can try to fix it for my self, but I don't now where to look and what document I will found it.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Mikael

I misunderstood you slightly. I thought that you meant the button to insert PRE tags was missing. I think I understand the problem now. Page Builder itself doesn’t strip out the PRE tag from your content (or any other HTML tags for that matter). I just double checked this on my development environment and Page Builder is displaying PRE tags.

If you disable all other plugins, does the PRE tag still get stripped out?

I’ll test out that plugin for myself and see if I can figure out what’s going on.

Yes, I have disable all plugins without pagebuilder and mivhak, but it still not working. If I disable pagebuilder it’s working

    Hi,
There is no acute, if you release a update later or something, then I can wait.
But I want it to work.

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks. Both Greg and I are unable to replicate the issue locally. Perhaps we can take a look on your side. I’ll send instructions now.

    Hi, I Work Here

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:

    [email protected]

Just navigate to Users > Add New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the “Send Password” field so we receive the details.

Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi :)

Here is an example of using the pre tag in Page Builder in a Text widget:
