SiteOrigin Editor Widget is messing with Bumpsale script

Hi all,

I’m trying to use Bumpsale to sell a product on a single-page site set up with North and the SiteOrigin Pagebuilder.

My (in-progress) site is at http://launch.courses (button should be along the bottom)

Bumpsale provides the following code to install their purchase button on my site:

<!-- Start Bumpsale -->
<bumpsale-button data-token='fJFSxcrtSPoECTpevAbuszTp'></bumpsale-button>
<script src="https://widgets.bumpsale.co/button-0.1.5.js"></script>
<!-- End Bumpsale -->

I’ve tried adding that to a SiteOrigin Editor widget by itself, but can’t get the button to display. I was able to set up the button two otherwise empty pages:

launch.courses/bumpsale/
launch.courses/bumpsale-with-text/

I went back into the widget editor to find that the code is now:

<!-- Start Bumpsale -->
<bumpsale -button data-token='fJFSxcrtSPoECTpevAbuszTp'></bumpsale>
<script src="https://widgets.bumpsale.co/button-0.1.5.js"></script>
<!-- End Bumpsale -->

Notice the extra space after “bumpsale”! No matter how many times I remove that or recreate the content, I have the same problem.

Any idea how to resolve this?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi John

    I love these sneaky issues. Well, more specifically – I love fixing them. I’m going to try recreate this issue on my side – I’ll let you know what I find out. It’s evening here now, so I’ll probably only be able to make headway tomorrow morning.

    Side note – Bumpsale looks like a very cool concept. Hadn’t heard of it before.

    Thanks Greg! Our product launch challenge is this coming weekend, so I’d like to get this issue resolved before then ?

    Hi John

    We’ll dive in tomorrow morning (GMT+2). For the moment, are you able to successfully add the code via the regular/plain/core Text widget into Page Builder?

    Good question… hadn’t tried that! Looks like the basic text widget does work.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi John,

    I was able to work around this issue by unticking the “Automatically add paragraphs” setting in the SiteOrigin Editor widget. Does this (indirectly) resolve the issue for you? Trying to narrow down what is causing this issue so knowing this will really help.

    I actually tested that before, without luck. Not sure why it didn't work for me, if it did for you.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi John,

    Hm. That’s odd – it’s not working for me now either.

    I’m roughly 99.99% sure it worked for me on initial page creation and not after that. With that said, I’m still unable to replicate it so this might be noise more than anything.
