SiteOrigin Editor Plugin Not Saving or Updating New Content

Hi!

The SiteOrigin Editor plugin stopped working for me. New posts don’t save/update at all after I add content.

I’ve had the same issues as these users (https://siteorigin.com/thread/siteorigin-content-editor-not-saving-content/) and (https://siteorigin.com/thread/edits-not-saving-page-builder/) and have done all the troubleshoooting steps.

1) turning off plugins and re-activing
2) clearing cache
3) updating themes
4) checking php

Help please!

    Hi, thanks for reaching out.

If you’re running a plugin conflict test (item 1) the purpose is to seek a working baseline. It’s unlikely an issue will resolve by deactivating and then reactivating plugins. If you’d like to re-run the plugin conflict test, temporarily deactivate all plugins except for those authored by SiteOrigin. In that state, check to see if the issue is persisting. If the issue persists then the test has failed and you can reactivate all plugins. If the issue does not persist then you’ve found a working baseline and can run further tests from that position.

Is your content updating in the Editor widget but not reflecting on the site front-end? Please, send a link to a page concerned and we’ll take a look.

Is there a fix to this? I have the same problem

  3. 2 months, 16 days ago boppshoobop

I have the same issue. I add new content, click update to publish it, and then when I go back the new content that I just added is gone and the post isn’t updated.

    Example page: https://thejeansfit.com/healthiest-food-at-taco-bell/

As you can tell by the name, my content is about Taco Bell food – but it’s keeping my OLD content

    Hi, thanks for reaching out.

Was this thread not created by you seven months ago? It looks to be the same username. When able, please, check my reply above. Thanks again.

Hi again. When able, please, try checking the URL https://thejeansfit.com/healthiest-food-at-taco-bell/ in another browser or logged out of WordPress. The page is returning 404 not found when I view it.

Is the page or post published?

    Thanks

    Hi, thanks for your replies.

There seems to be an issue with email replies not posting to the forum. We’re investigating. If you could post replies directly on this forum thread in the meantime, that would be great. The thread is located at Thread: SiteOrigin Editor Plugin Not Saving or Updating New Content. (We offer direct email support as part of our SiteOrigin Premium license.)

When pasting from Word, perhaps try the Paste as Text button before inserting your content. Please, see https://imgur.com/a/2S0V0N7.

    It is still an issue.

Even if I just go into the post and change a line of text from H2 to H1, or delete an extra space between two paragraphs and click “update” the changes are not posted.

Is there perhaps a bug in the plugin?

If it helps, the error I all the time is “There is a newer version of this widget’s content available.
Clicking Restore will replace the current widget contents. You can revert by refreshing the page before updating.”

But when I click restore and then done and then “update” the updates aren’t made

The message in question shouldn’t be displayed. Please, try making an update without making use of the restore feature.

    Please, also:

Take a screenshot of the page as you’re editing it so we can see the overall editing picture. Screenshots can be uploaded to any sharing site like Imgur.com or Dropbox. I tried to make the update without using the restore button, retyped the content, clicked update, and the new content still isn’t posted.

    I don’t have a Dropbox account.

It’s just when I click on “update” the changes aren’t posted

Thanks for the update. Screenshots can be uploaded to Imgur.com, your WordPress Media Library or any online source. Imgur.com is free.
