SiteOrigin Editor Not Displaying Text

Early last week my site was working fine. I could edit anything using the Editor widget in my page layouts. Now, none of my previously written text will display when I open the widget on the back-end. It still displays on the page fine, but if I want to edit it, nothing appears in the widget and when I close it, it’s all gone, I have to revert. Nothing was updated from the time it worked to when I noticed it not working. Since, I have updated WordPress to the newest version (4.9.4) and I have also updated my theme to the latest version.

I have seen this issue posted about before and the solution was to disable Javascript Concatenation in the wp-config.php file, which I have done.

Nothing I’m doing is working. Is this being looked in to?

    Hi Adam,

If disabling JavaScript Concatenation didn’t help, this is likely as a result of a plugin conflict or your visual editor is disabled.

Please navigate to WP AdminUsersYour Profile and ensure that Visual Editor is unticked. If it’s ticked, please untick it and check to see if the editor still doesn’t work for you?

If Visual Editor was already enabled, or enabling it didn’t help, can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

Thank you Alex! The culprit was another plugin that had been recently added to the site. We have multiple users update our site and one of them installed a plugin lately that was interfering.

    Thanks again for your help!

    Hi Adam,

Great to hear you were able to get it working! :)
Can you please clarify what the conflicting plugin was?
