Shortcode won’t work in page builder

I am currently using the Event Planner Pro plugin and I cannot get the shortcode [events_planner display=”list-class”] to work or show at all using page builder. It works fine on any other page without the page builder. This is the third plugin I have tried to use that does not seem to be compatible with a shortcode.

I have already installed Tiny MCE and tried the Editor WIdget, but it still doesn’t work.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Jennie,

To clarify, is the Automatically add paragraphs setting disabled? (it’s below the editor)?

Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on? If you need to keep this URL private from other users, just select “Private Reply” on the bottom right of the comment box.

Would it be possible for you to send me an export for this widget? To do this open up the page with the widget and click layout. Then click import / export and then click download. Please upload the export to a 3rd party file hosting site such as teknik.io.

Hi. You can view an example page here: http://www.sportingstarscoaching.com/events-list/
Automatically add paragraphs has been disabled and I have pasted the code in both the visual editor and the site origin editor widgets. I have exported the file for you here: https://u.teknik.io/MIYN2.json

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Jennie,

So I just tried the free version and the shortcode worked for me without issue. Does the free version work for you? If not, I suspect you’re experiencing a plugin conflict.

Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins (leave the events planner plugin enabled) and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

    Hi,

I have done as asked, deactivated all plugins except for site origin (and event manager pro). Cleared my cache and it still doesn’t work. I have now reenabled the plugins as I need them to be working.

I have been in touch with the developer of the plugin and he said he has never had an issue with this in the 5 years of development.

DO you have any other advice please, as I really want to get this working.

I have also had the same issue with “wordpress login form to anywhere””

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Jennie,

Oddly, I’m able to use that plugin also without issue also. Does this issue persist when temporarily change theme? Are you able to use the WordPress Gallery shortcode?

Oh also I forgot to mention, the page has changed that I am testing. It is now http://www.sportingstarscoaching.com/events-list-2/
Could it be the theme effecting it at all? I am going to try an install with a different theme if it will let me, but I think I am restricted to one install. Either that or I will try the free version with the theme later.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Jennie,

To be honest, I’m not too sure. I can’t replicate the issues with the shortcodes on my test sites so at this stage I’m looking at any differences – the theme being one of them. It should be noted that you should be able to change theme temporarily by navigating to WP AdminAppearanceThemes.

    Hi Alex,

Thanks for your help so far. It appears it must be the theme as I changes the theme and I could then see the shortcode working. I have changed the theme back to what it was again now on the test site. Any ideas for the steps forwards now? The theme is Justfit by mythemeshop.

    Hi Jennie,

At this point, your best option would be to get in contact with the theme developers to see if this is a known issue and if not, if they had any idea why this may be happening.
