I am having the same issue with a client site that I’ve imported (http://www.thesourcecareers.com). It was working fine while I was building it and then they’re replaced by a rectangle character.

Ok. I have figured out that it’s an Access-Control-Allow-Origin CORS configuration issue. But, since I don’t have access to the client’s FTP site (I imported the XML wordpress site), should I just export the entire site, open it up locally, modify the .htaccess file then re-import it back into my client’s site?

      Hi, I Work Here

      Hi Jeannie

The XML export unfortunately only contains the site content. The .htacess file is located in the WordPress root. You will need FTP or hosting file manager access to reach that file.

Here is David Walsh on a possible fix: davidwalsh.name/cdn-fonts.

    Hi ubeuve

Sorry to hear about the hassle. It doesn’t look like you’re facing the same cross domain issue that Jeannie is working through. If you’re running a caching plugin please clear it’s cache. If you aren’t it’s possible there is caching happening on the hosting side of things. We’ve seen this problem clear up in 24-48hrs in the past.

Thanks, Andrew. I’ll see what I can do about accessing my client’s root files and let you know how it goes!

Thank you Andrew, I’ll wait more 24 hours and I tell how it goes.

Ok, Andrew the issue is not resolved yet, so I’ll try to reinstalling. Thanks

Hi, again, I didn’t try re-installing yet (no time enough) but I found out icons work well with IE11 so the problem is with Chrome and Firefox.
I found this at FF Console, so I guess there is a problem with the “Vantage Icons font”.

    downloadable font: download failed (font-family: "vantage-icons" style:normal weight:normal stretch:normal src index:1): status=2147746065
    source: http://www.kilometrosymillas.com/wp-content/themes/vantage/icons/vantage-icons.woff?-9o183q style.css
    downloadable font: download failed (font-family: "vantage-icons" style:normal weight:normal stretch:normal src index:2): status=2147746065
    source: http://www.kilometrosymillas.com/wp-content/themes/vantage/icons/vantage-icons.ttf?-9o183q style.css
    downloadable font: no supported format found (font-family: "vantage-icons" style:normal weight:normal stretch:normal src index:4)
    source: (end of source list)

Fonts url seems to be right (it works in IE), so could fonts be corrupt?

    Thanks again.

    Hi, I Work Here

We’re unfortunately unsure of any other steps to try right now. Re-installing should be very quick once you have the ZIP file ready on your desktop.

    Hi there!

Has there been any update on this? When I pointed the site I completed at the domain, I lost the search, scroll to top, and left /right scroll icons, but not while it was resolving to just the IP address.

The site is now very much ‘live’ and I am uncertain as to the level of down time that might result from a theme re-installation from zip. Also, will this adversely affect the child theme that I am running from Vantage Premium?

    Thanks,

    Bryan
