Problems creating posts grids

Hi – I’m new to Page Builder and I’m trying to completely revamp an existing WordPress site I’ve got. I want to have a series of simple post rows going across – a bit like this site http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football

I’m using the Twenty Twelve theme because I want to use a theme which has a clear box around it and where the code is fairly simple. I’ve gone through hundreds of themes and haven’t found another suitable basic theme.

However if I try to add a Post Loop I get a number of options starting with content (content-aside.php, etc) but no grid options. Is it because the theme I’m using doesn’t support it?

I have found Post Grid plugins but all the of ones I’ve found have a fixed format which I don’t particularly like.

I’ve even tried to create a row with four boxes too and put in a loop query and that hasn’t worked for me. I understand how the queries work but I’m doing something wrong with the integration into the theme.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi :)

    Thanks for reaching out.

Unfortunately, the Post Loop widget does require the theme to support it with loop templates that have a certain naming standard.

Within our Widgets Bundle plugin you can use the Post Carousel widget: https://siteorigin.com/widgets-bundle/post-carousel-widget/, give it a try.

If you don’t yet have the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle installed, go to PluginsAdd New and search for SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle. Once activated, go to PluginsSiteOrigin Widgets and ensure that the Post Carousel widget is activated. You can then insert the SiteOrigin Post Carousel widget into your page via our Page Builder plugin. Within the Post Carousel widget, click the Build posts query button and use the Taxonomies field to search for the categories you want to display.
