Posting blogs to home page and Insert read more tag

Hi. I am trying to get my new blog posts to appear on the home page of my vantage theme website. Can you show me how to do that? I thought I had my settings configured to do that, but when I publish a new blog post it just says page cannot be displayed. Also, I would like to add the Insert read more tag page break into my blog posts. I am clicking on the icon where I want the tag, but when I view the post on my site the full text is there with no Insert read more tag. Can you show me how to get this to work correctly? Thanks.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi David

    Thanks for reaching out.

Your using Page Builder for your home page so the easiest is to:

    1. Go to Pages > Home.
    2. Click on the page Builder tab.
    3. Insert a Post Loop widget where you’d like your posts to display.
    4. Edit the Post Loop widget and choose the template you’d like to use.

If you want to make your home page full width, use the Page Template drop down menu in the right column to set Full Width, No Page Title.

If you’d like to remove the comment form on this page and others, please see our tutorial video here:
    Page: Disable WordPress Comments

    Hope that helps.

Thanks Andrew. When I follow these instructions it is asking me if I want to add the post loop widget on the side bar, header or footer. What I would like to do is have my latest blog post show up in the main center body of my home page, not on a side bar.

Also, any recommendations on how to make the insert read more tag actually make a page break on my blog posts? I am inserting in the text of my blog, but the “read more” tag does not show up when I publish my post. Thanks for your help.

    David

    Hi, I Work Here

It sounds like you’re at Appearance > Widgets. Head over to Pages > Home, click on the Page Builder tab and add your Post Loop widget there via the Add Widget button.

After inserting your read more tag, are you viewing your post on the blog page? The more tag won’t work on the single post page.
