I updated your plugin today to ver 2.80 and I’m seeing this error in my log file which is causing a 500 error:
[06-Aug-2018 16:37:54 UTC] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘)’, expecting :: (T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM) in /wp-content/plugins/siteorigin-panels/siteorigin-panels.php on line 70
Any ideas?
Thanks
Hi Frugger,
We’re really sorry about this!

This issue is occurring due to using an older version of PHP, pre 5.6. We’ve logged this issue and will release a fix asap. In the meantime, you can avoid this issue by either upgrading PHP (you’ll need to reach out to your hosting provider about this – you want to upgrade to at least 5.6) or manually uninstall SiteOrigin Page Builder and then reinstall it.

For the latter, if you’re unfamiliar with FTP, you’ll need to reach out to your hosting provider for assistance. If you are familiar with FTP, please connect to your website and navigate to wp-content/plugins, delete siteorigin-panels. You’ll be able to access your website now, please open your website and navigate to WP AdminPluginsAdd New and upload/activate this version of SiteOrigin Page Builder.
Hi Frugger
A quick follow-up. Have you been able to reach out to your hosts and ask them to upgrade your server to PHP 7+ or perhaps resolve using the alternative option above?
I’ve upgraded our version of PHP to 5.6
Thanks!
Super, really glad to hear you were able to resolve. Thanks for your understanding. All the best with your site, if any new questions arise, please let us know.
