Pagebuilder throwing error upon activation.

The latest version of pagebuilder throws an error code as soon as I activate it. Im on PHP 7.2 (tried it on 7.0 as well) using the Polestar theme with no other plugins installed (fresh wordpress install to try to resolve the issue). I also tried rolling back to a previous version with no luck.

I’ve been using this combo for a long time and have had no issues before this latest update.

    Hi Mitch,

Can you please elaborate on the error you’re facing? What is the exact error code you’re receiving?

    Alex,

I went on my site to copy the error code, but now no error code shows, it appears that pagebuilder isn’t loading at all, no buttons or anything in the editor interface.
I have disabled all other plugins to ensure that there is no issues there.

    Hi Mitch,

Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

Yes, all plugins are off except pagebuilder, and the problem excises.
    The pagebuilder interface doesn’t show.

I completely reinstalled WordPress (with a clean DB) and the problem still persists.

    Hi Mitch,

    Sorry for the delay.

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look?
Also, to clarify, who are you currently hosting with?

    Alex,

I was able to comment out a function in the pagebuilder panels php file to resolve the issue. Thanks though.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Mitch

Sorry for the hassle. The problem arises when the fileinfo extension isn’t activated which is why it isn’t directly linked to the PHP version being used. Some users on PHP 7 have this extension activated and others don’t. We’ve rewritten the supporting code in Page Builder to not rely on this PHP extension and will release the Page Builder update ASAP. Once that’s done themes can then safely use the function you’ve commented out. Thanks for hanging in there with us during this error. All the best.
