Page titles and ‘Leave a Reply ‘

These are probably dumb questions…

1. Where can I turn off page titles? I’ve searched everywhere!

2. How can I get rid of the ‘Leave a Reply’ heading, comments box and Post Comment button from all pages? I’ve turned off all the options I can find in Themes: Customize, Themes: Theme Settings, Settings: Writing and Settings: Discussion, as well as checking in all the unlikely places as well.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Malcolm

    On each page you’re able to select the Full Page, No Page Title template under Page Attributes in the right column. It’s currently not possible to remove the page title and keep the sidebar. If you wanted to do that you could try adding the following to Appearance > Custom CSS:

    /* Vantage hide page titles */

    article.page .entry-header h1.entry-title {
    display: none;
    }

    To turn off comment boxes please see our tutorial here: https://siteorigin.com/basics/disable-wordpress-comments/

    Thanks for the info on removing the page titles, that’s fine now.

    The settings for removing the discussion area from the pages are already unticked in Screen Options (see screenshot at http://www.lymingtondistrictdartsleague.co.uk/discussion-settings-screenshot-1.jpg).

    The website is at http://www.lymingtondistrictdartsleague.co.uk/ – I’ve created some more pages and they’re not showing the discussion area because it’s disabled globally, it’s only on the home page, which is an ordinary page, not the theme’s Custom Home Page.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Please take another look at our tutorial on removing Comment Boxes.

    https://siteorigin.com/basics/disable-wordpress-comments/

    Screen Options control what is displayed in WordPress but not on your front end. So un-ticking Discussion in Screen Options just means that the Discussion settings won’t show in WordPress. The keyword being “settings”.

    1. Tick Discussion in Screen Options.
    2. Then scroll down to the Discussion meta box and un-tick the comment options.

    This can’t be done globally.

    I see what you mean now – many thanks.
