Page jumping when clicking on Tabs.

I’m having in issue in Google Chrome with the page jumping around when I click on tabs. It doesn’t happen if the tabs are close to the top of the page but only when they’re in the middle of the page.

It doesn’t jump around on Firefox or IE so I am not sure if it is browser-specific issue.

Would appreciate any insight.

Thank you!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Steven

Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?

    Thanks

    Hey Andrew,

Yes the URL is here: http://www.befoundusawebsites.com/ufc/carpet-cleaning-services/

I know that we have some code in there to provide smooth scrolling to anchors but even with the code removed and cache cleared the page jumping still happens.

Here is a video as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGgXs4SWddI

    Hi Steven

I don’t immediately see the cause. The anchor is jumping to the top of the page or the navbar. In a situation like this, I’d strip the page back until I found a working baseline. The order is up to you but a working baseline should be available somewhere. A quick test to run is to put the site into maintenance mode, temporarily deactivate all plugins and switch to a default theme like Twenty Nineteen. If the anchor links function normally in this state then switch back to your theme and restest. If the issue does not persist, add your plugins back one by one, testing after each activation. Testing like this is usually pretty quick.

    Hey Andrew,

I’ve switched to the default twentynineteen theme and deactivated all plugins except SiteOrigin Widgets, Page Builder and Premium Addons. Unfortunately the page jumping is still happening. I even deactivated premium addons just to see what that would do and the page still jumps up like it did before.

At this point, I’m wondering if it is a glitch in their particular build of Chrome. I did read that some builds had this issue after digging into it further. It is odd that it only happens on Chrome and no other browsers. I’ve even tested Opera and Safari and no jumping.

    Thank you for the help,

    Steven

    Hi Steven

Thanks for your detailed feedback, it’s most appreciated.

Are you using SiteOrigin Premium? If so, please, email us on [email protected] so that we can assist via our premium support desk.

A quick follow-up test might be to create a test page. From your home page, right-click and copy the tabs widget and then paste it into Page Builder on your test. When the tabs widget is the only widget on the page, does the issue persist?
