We have installed our plugin on a clients website that uses SiteOrigin Page Builder.
When we view the page, it shows our plugin rendered twice within the page, even though the shortcode is only used once in the page.
If I change the page back to the stock wordpress editor, the plugin renders only once, as expected.
It seems to me as if the Page Builder is rendering the shortcode and storing it in the database, pre-rendered, As well rendering the shortcode on display of the page.
I have read a few articles on this forum about shortcodes not working, the response is always similar and says you need to make your plugin compatible with Page Builder.
Is there a guide or any information on how to make it compatible with Page Builder?
Thanks in advance
Hi Alex,
To clarify, we do store one version of the shortcode in a prerendered fashion but that’s not used on the frontend (it’s only visible on the backend).
Is this a custom shortcode or is it a plugin? If it’s the latter, can you please link to it so I can check over the code? If it’s a custom shortcode, would it be possible for you to provide me with access so I can check over the code?
Not really. It’s typically a case by case basis sort of thing – see what the cause is and react based on that.
It is a custom short code for a plugin we wrote.

i would rather not post them on a public forum
Thanks
Alex
