Page Builder conflict with Meta Slider

HIGH: Page Builder broke all pages and posts originally designed with Page Builder

Hello,

I started using Page Builder last month.

Everything went well till I was modifying a post with Live Editor.

When I tried to save my changes, Page Builder took a long time and no pages ans posts initially designed with Page builder are no more displayed.

As a lot of the pages of the site are designed with Page Builder now, including my my start and landing pages, it’s a severe issue as the site is no more accessible !

Thanks for your feedback and for your help !

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Potoman

    Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:

    Private Snippet

    Just navigate to UsersAdd New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and Private Snippet for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the Send Password field so we receive the details.

    Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Potoman,

    Thanks. I’ve attempted a basic edit on your home page and the change was correctly saved and worked. Can you please outline a change you’re trying to make that’s not saving?

    Hello Alex,

    If you want to reproduce the issue, I need to reactivate Metaslider plugin that I have deactivated due to the conflict.

    Once reactivated, you will see that the home page and all other pages designed wit SO Builder and including metaslider sildes displays a blank page.

    And when trying to save the pages when modified with SO Buider editor, the saving time can be much much longer.

    Reply to this message and I will reactivate the plugin.

    Regards,
    Potoman

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Potoman,

    That’s odd. I was looking at your website before and you had Meta Slider enabled. Can you please elaborate on what you need to enable to cause this issue?

  7. 5 years, 9 months ago potoman

    Hi Alex,

    Not that odd ;-)

    There’s two plugins for Metaslider.

    – MetaSlider – Version 3.10.3 | Currently activated – BASIC
    – MetaSlider – Pro Add-on Pack – Version 2.12.0 | Currently deactivated – ADVANCED

    The conflict issue is between Page Builder and MetaSlider – Pro Add-on Pack.

    At the moment, the second one is not activated. Thus no metaslider slides are displayed. Ony Page Builder sliders, I have created in the meantime, are displayed. If we activate MetaSlider – Pro Add-on Pack, pages designed by SiteOrigin Builder included Metaslider Slides will be displayed “blank”.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Potoman,

    Thank you for clarification. Can you please enable WP_DEBUG? This will allow an error message to appear on the blank page you’re seeing. To enable WP_DEBUG, you’ll need to edit your wp-config.php file. If you need assistance with editing this file, please reach out to your hosting provider for assistance.

    Hi Alex,

    Thanks for your feedback.

    I did change but no message appear on the blank page I’m seeing.

    Do I need to change the define(‘WP_DEBUG’, false); line into define(‘WP_DEBUG’, true); only ?

    /** Sets up Debug Mode. */
    define(‘WP_DEBUG’, true);
    define(‘EMPTY_TRASH_DAYS’, 0);
    define(‘WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY’,false);
    define(‘WP_DEBUG_LOG’,true);

    Regards,
    Potoman

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Potoman,

    Thanks. WP_DEBUG must be set to TRUE but the error isn’t visible due to WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY being set to false. Please temporarily set WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY to TRUE also.

    Hello Alex,

    So I modified the wp-config.php file and applied it.

    I tested that I could see the error messages if any. And I did.

    Then I reactivated MetaSlider – Pro Add-on Pack – Version 2.12.0.

    The homepage was still blank afterwards (as expected)
    but no error messages were displayed. page 100% fully blank !

    Thanks for your feedback,
    Regrds,
    Potoman

    Hi, I Work Here

    Thanks. Since you activated debug log, please go to /wp-content/ and download debug.log. Were there any warnings, errors or notices logged at the time of your test?
