update; I have researched this…
Thread: Vantage icons not showing up
but sadly it did not resolve issue-as i just got notice from odesk hire, who is trying to fix reviews plugin, they accidentally deleted … :(
Hi Oldasdirtuser
We have encountered an issue like this where web hosts were actually blocking access to font files. Can you double check if this is the case for you. The easiest check would be to log into your FTP server and check if the files are there. They should be in wp-content/themes/vantage/icons/vantage-icons…
If they are there, then I’d contact your webhosts and ask them if they’re blocking these requests. If they’re not there, then I’d suggest reinstalling Vantage from a fresh ZIP file.
As Greg mentioned, we’ve seen blocking occur quite a few times recently. Hosts seem to be happy to resolve once the matter is raised. You can confirm if this is happening by checking for errors in your browser’s console, here is how:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Your_Browser_to_Diagnose_JavaScript_Errors#Step_3:_Diagnosis
You’ll see 403 forbidden or 404 not found errors if this is the case.
Let us know how it goes.
Double checked.
I went to the ftp and folder no longer is there – host also checked and no folder found.
Contractor admits they ‘accidentally’ deleted. Not sure how that happened but ….
OK….I will try a reload … (hold on to something, this could get rough!)
Read my mind :)
As long as no changes have been made to the theme files directly there should be no problem with this.

I was looking for threads regarding this _ :)

Proof it worked…!

On a slight side note, do you all have a list of reputable go to service people/companies for outside work re: WP in general?
The odesk team has been very nice in that they are not charging me for any work completed by this contractor, due to this error. And the contractor seems very remorseful…but I still feel uneasy as I cannot really wrap my head around why or how these files should have been even close to the reviews plugin issue for which they were hired.
All work I saved in custom css as per our earlier lessons :) came back without a hitch ! hoooyah!
Super, glad to hear you made progress there.
Similar marketplace but hopefully a bit more vetted, you could try https://codeable.io/. We unfortunately don’t have anywhere in here Cape Town that we know of that currently has capacity. Sorry we don’t have more here!
