My SiteOrigin Slider Widget has stopped working

I’ve been using the SiteOrigin Slider widget (I have the widgets bundle)on my homepage with no problems for a few years, but when I came to update the pictures today it is no longer working – I can’t change the existing pictures or add new ones. I haven’t changed anything other than done a standard WordPress update (current version 6.4.2) There don’t seem to be any updates to the widget to install. Any ideas? Thanks

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Chris

    Thanks for posting your question.

You can perhaps try checking for a working baseline. Temporarily deactivate all plugins except for Page Builder and the Widgets Bundle. In that state, does the issue persist?

Yes I’ve tried this but there’s still an issue. Thanks

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks for the update. Do you perhaps have a public URL where we can look at what’s going on?

Hi – thank you – my site is https://www.inmotionpilates.co.uk/. I’ve removed the slider from my homepage as I couldn’t replace the images and they were out of date. I realise the SiteOrigin image widget is not working for me either – I have it on my ‘About Me’ page but if I try to replace the existing image it disappears so I’ve left it as is Thanks

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks for the link. I see you’re using Beaver Builder. Does the Image Widget on your About page work normally if you try editing the page in another browser?

That seems to completely remove all my page layout formatting and also says that I need to have SiteOrigin Page Builder. Thanks for your help but I think I’ll give up for now until I re-design my website and start again.

    Hi, I Work Here

Switching between say Chrome and Firefox for example removes page formatting?

    Hi, I Work Here

Sure, no problem, I completely understand. I’m sorry we weren’t able to make progress on this issue.

Switching between editing with Beaver Builder and just editing the page seemed to remove all my formatting so I need to keep editing with that. Shame as I’d used Site Origin slider and image with no problems for a few years so something’s obviously upset it, but it’s not worth spending any more time on. Thanks again for your help.

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks for confirming. It isn’t possible to shift content from a Page Builder type plugin without losing formatting. Regarding the SiteOrigin Page Builder recommendation, that can be dismissed; it’s not a requirement for the Widgets Bundle. Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Chris,

I’ve come up with a potential fix for this issue and created a build for you to try. You can download that build by clicking here.

    Before proceeding, do a backup.

Navigate to PluginsInstalled Plugins, and deactivate SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle, and then delete it. Scroll to the top of the page and click Add New, Upload Plugin. Upload so-widgets-bundle.1.57.1-beta.zip and when prompted, activate it. Does this issue still occur for you?

    Kind regards,
    Alex

Thanks Alex – I did as suggested but I’m afraid that doesn’t work. There is progress in that I can select and add the slider images, but they are not updated and disappear when I Save. The same thing happens with the SiteOrigin Image widget.

    Thanks anyway,
    Chris
