missing leave a reply comment box on post page

Hi – Great theme but I removed the leave a reply function when building my site – now I want it back on the blog/posts page and I can’t seem to figure out where to do that – I know it is most likely something simple I have overlooked.

Many Thanks

Also when I copy code from different threads – into my customcss – they don’t seem to work at all
[/* Links */
#main a { color: #dd3333; text-decoration: none !important; }
#main a:hover { color: #2b1100; text-decoration: none !important; }

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Bremmer

    Thanks for your positive feedback.

    Here is our guide on removing comment boxes, the opposite would apply: https://siteorigin.com/basics/disable-wordpress-comments/.

    The link color CSS selectors are:

    /* Links */

    #main a { color: #dd3333; }

    #main a:hover { color: #2b1100; }

    You’ll then need to change those colors to your own.

    Thanks for responding – I had done all of that and it still doesn’t work…any other thoughts? Also had added and rechecked the link/hover code and it isn’t working…I am needing to give this to the client tomorrow…:(

    Hi, I Work Here

    To confirm, Screen Options just decides what you can see on the admin screen, you still need to scroll down below the editor and check the relevant discussion settings. This needs to be done on a page by page, post by post basis.

    If you’re looking to set hover colors for the post title and post meta please add the following:

    article.post .entry-header h1.entry-title a:hover,article.page .entry-header h1.entry-title a:hover { color: #fff; }

    article.post .entry-header .entry-meta a:hover, article.page .entry-header .entry-meta a:hover { color: #fff; }

    I checked discussion on the screen options. And then on the blog page only – where I had selected the blog template I checked allow comments and tried posting on the blog page rather than as a post. It didn’t work. Nor when I pasted the code into the custom css – the colors are still grey.
    Please take a look at the page – maybe I am just missing something obvious
    http://www.hubbardnelson.org/blog – everything else works really well. I am stymied.
    Thank you for your help

    here is another take on it – when I select full width on my blog page – I get the comment box. However I can’t make a post to the page – nothing happens? How do I post to my blog page?

    Thank you

    Hi, I Work Here

    Comment boxes should appear on a post by post basis. If you do enable comments for your blog page there will only be one comment box at the bottom of the page, not post by post. So to confirm, comments appear on individual posts when activated for each post.

    To get posts showing on your blog page you just need to set the page template to Blog and ensure posts are added under Posts in WordPress.

    If the comment box is appearing on the Blog page with the Full Width template and not the Default template then something is wrong. Have you modified any theme code?

    If you’d like me to take a look please send a set of temporary login details to [email protected] and include a reference to this thread in that email.

    Thanks
