Menue Bar is blinking when scrolling down

11 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 11 years ago

Hello Site Origin team,

I’ve noticed that when I use Chrome and scroll down my page, the menue bar is sometimes (not permanently) kind of “blinking” instead of staying fixed at the top. I don’t know if it appears and disappears or is just jumping back to the top.
However, is there anything I can do to avoid this annoying effect (additional CSS code etc.)?

If you want to have a look, here is the URL to my page: test.karispro.de
Maybe you have to try it several times to see the effect. It has occured on several PC’s/Laptops so it can’t be a PC/laptop problem.

Thank you very much in advance for your help.
Chris

    Hi Chris

    At a glance in OS X Chrome I don’t see a problem. Can you please send me the Windows version that your test machines are running and I’ll do some further testing on my side. Or even a break down:

    Machine 1: Windows 7 / Chrome

    Etc.

    On the off chance it might help please can you also:

    1. Dashboard > Updates, ensure no updates are pending.
    2. Plugins: Temporarily disable all non-SiteOrigin plugins and re-test the issue.
    3. Finally could you also re-test the problem in Firefox on your test machine, does the issue also happen in Firefox?

    (Chrome runs WebKit and Firefox runs Gecko so if there is a difference it will help me narrow down the problem)

    Thanks!

    Hello Andrew,

    thank you for your quick answer and sry for my late response, I was on holidays.
    The problem occured on:
    Windows 8.1 / Chrome
    Windows 7 / Chrome

    With Firefox, there never was a problem (all Plugins were activiated) and also today I had no problems with Chrome so far. This is kind of weird and I will check if my boss still has the problem on his computer. Hopefully the problem has solved itself :)

    Regards
    Chris

    Short Update:
    It has just occured again on my machine : Windows 8.1 / Chrome
    The disabling of non-SiteOrigin plugins didn’t help :(
    Firefox is still fine.

    Hi Chris

    Wild stab in the dark here, try the following under Appearance > Custom CSS:

    /* Sticky Menu */
    .main-navigation.sticky {
    	backface-visibility: hidden;
    }

    Thanks Andrew!

    I entered the code and will check if this solves the problem.
    If not I’ll come back to you :)

    Regards
    Chris
