Menu links disappear when set as the active page

Hello.
The site dfcnazarene.org uses the vantage theme. It’s menu links disappear when the page they link to is the active one.

This seems to only be affecting the top level menu.
I’m hoping to keep all menu links visible no matter what page a user visits, as it used to be.
Please help me restore this functionality.

    Hi J
You have the Menu current page text colour set to the came colour as the menu background. If you goto appearance->customize you can change this in the menu settings on the left hand side. it is listed as ‘current page text’.

    Hope this helps

    Hi Jhuckins

We previously had a bug in the Customizer where menu settings weren’t taking effect. It’s possible you set this in that bugged version, then when you updated Vantage the setting took effect. Under Appearance > Customize > Menu see the settings related to Current Menu Background and Color.

    Hope that helps.

Simon, spot on! Thanks for jumping in.

Thank you Simon and Andrew for the feedback. The menu’s current page text color was set to the same color as the menu background, however I override the menu bar background with a custom CSS gradient. I also override the menu text with a custom color. The menu bar background color and text colors I use have enough contrast to be distinguished.

It turns out I needed to specify the CSS background and text colors for the currently selected menu link via: “.main-navigation ul li.current-menu-item>a, .main-navigation ul li.current_page_item>a:hover” and “.main-navigation ul li.current-menu- item>a, .main-navigation ul li.current_page_item>”.

Once I updated that, all menu items became visible (no matter what menu item was selected as the current page).

Again, thank you, you guys pointed me in the right direction. : )
